Tham dự tự do, tuy nhiên, cần phải đăng ký để tham dự.

A group of European lawyers interested in open source and open standards will discuss if countries can pass laws that favour open source software, at their annual meeting next month. The group will also look at how to write calls for tenders in order to not discriminate against this type of software.

The European Open Source & Free Software Law Event (EOLE) recently posted the draft programme for the conference.

Eva Lichtenberger, member of the European Parliament (Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance) from Austria, will outline initiatives at the European Parliament.

Other topics include an update on the work of the Italian Ministerial Commission on open source, by Angelo Raffaele Meo, professor of Computer Science at Politecnico di Torino, and a talk on the Spanish interoperability framework, by Miguel A. Amutio Gomès, from the Spanish Ministry of Presidency.

"The use of free and open source software is an important topic, which is subject to political debates, but also raises legal questions", the organisers of the two-day conference explain. Another, important, role play the free and open source software communities, the organisers add, citing Neelie Kroes, the EU Commissioner for Digital Agenda: "Governments cannot simply announce and deliver the digital future. It must come out of an organic and shared responsibility."

The meeting is hosted by the public administration of Italy's Piemonte region. Entrance to the conference is free, however, registration is required.
